What is erotic spanking?
Erotic spanking is the consensual striking of a partner's buttocks, usually with the open hand, for the pleasure of both adults involved. It is one of the most widely known forms of what the BDSM community calls impact play.

Where the term comes from
Spanking is an everyday English word. The word erotic marks the difference: here it means a game between consenting adults who both want it, and nothing else.
The practice has no single known origin. In the vocabulary of BDSM it belongs to impact play, the general term for striking by agreement.
This page is only about that: consensual play between adults. It does not describe anything else that goes by the same word.
02
How it works
Most spanking is done with the open hand. It starts lightly and builds slowly, with pauses in between. The pauses matter as much as the contact, because they give the receiving partner time to take in the sensation and the giving partner time to watch the reaction.
Implements such as a paddle exist, but they are harder to judge than a hand and belong to a later stage, if at all.
Spanking is often set inside a role. In a playful version, one partner provokes and the other answers with a consequence both have agreed on. In a stricter version it is part of a dominant and submissive dynamic. Some people leave out roles and simply enjoy the sensation.
03
Why people like it
The reasons are partly physical: warmth, a sting that fades and a sense of release afterwards. They are also about anticipation. Knowing what is coming, and not knowing exactly when, is a large part of the appeal.
For many it is about attention and play. The receiving partner is the complete focus of the other for a while. The giving partner enjoys setting the pace and reading each response. In playful dynamics there is often a good deal of laughter.
The roles add their own pleasure. For someone who likes to provoke, being caught is the point. For someone who likes to lead, a calm answer to cheek is more satisfying than a raised voice.
04
What it is not
Erotic spanking is not violence and is never done in real anger. A real argument is settled in words, not in a scene. If either person is upset with the other, the game waits.
It is something adults choose for themselves, and it has nothing to do with punishment in any real sense. It also does not mean that a person wants more force or other kinds of impact. Enjoying a light, playful version is a complete preference of its own.
Nor is it a way to settle scores. Many couples speak of funishment for exactly this reason: the consequence is one that both look forward to, and nobody is being made to pay for anything.
05
Limits, safewords and consent
The talk beforehand covers intensity, marks and words. A scale from one to ten is a simple way to agree on how firm is welcome and to check in during the scene. Whether marks are acceptable is worth asking plainly. So is the tone: playful, strict or somewhere between.
A safeword matters especially here. In a playful scene, protest may be part of the game, so a word is needed that never is. Many people use the traffic-light system: green, yellow and red.
The receiving partner sets the upper limit, and the giving partner stays below it. Checking in during the scene does not break the mood. A quiet question about the number on the scale is enough.
06
Safety
Impact belongs on the fleshy lower part of the buttocks and, with care, the upper thighs. It stays away from the kidneys, the spine and the tailbone, and away from joints. Rings come off first.
Start lightly and build slowly. If a hand or foot goes numb, or if a pain is sharp instead of stinging, stop. Bruising is possible even at moderate intensity and differs from person to person. Alcohol dulls judgment on both sides and does not belong in a scene.
Anything beyond a hand takes practice. Impact play with implements is worth learning from experienced people, in workshops or local community groups.

07
Aftercare
After the scene, both step out of their roles. A blanket, water and being held are the usual first steps. Some people feel unexpectedly emotional afterwards, which is common and passes more easily with company.
A few sincere sentences help too: that the game was a game, and what each of them liked about it.
If marks appear, it is worth mentioning them in the next conversation, so that both know what a given intensity leads to.

How it works in chat or with an AI companion
In text, spanking is mostly anticipation and tone: the teasing, the warning, the count. There is no physical risk, and the playful side of the dynamic carries well in words.
On Rendezvoir, adults book an AI companion for a fixed time and pay once, with no subscription. Hazel is the house's companion for spanking roleplay between adults: a twenty-six-year-old who provokes on purpose and fully expects the consequences. You choose a level, Suggestive, Sensual or Explicit, and can lower it at any time. The safeword is one tap away and stops the scene at once. Every companion is an AI, a fictional adult character.

What is a safeword?
A safeword is a word or signal agreed on in advance that stops a scene, or slows it down, the moment it is used. It exists so that stopping never depends on being understood correctly in the middle of a game.

Femdom ideas and tasks for a first scene
Femdom ideas for a first scene are small acts of leading: she chooses, he asks permission, and one or two rules hold for the evening. Good first tasks are easy to check and easy to do well, such as a message at a set time or a room prepared exactly as told. Agree on limits and a safeword first.

Sexual fantasies: the common ones and what they tell you
A sexual fantasy is an imagined scene that arouses you, and nearly every adult has them. The common themes are few: novelty, more than one partner, power given or taken, being intensely wanted, and romance. A fantasy tells you what a feeling looks like in your imagination. It is not a plan, a prediction or a verdict on your character.
